Establishment

• Sant Rohidas Leather Industries and Charmakar Development Corporation Ltd. (LIDCOM ) was established on 1st May, 1974.
• An authorised Share Capital of Rs. 5 Crores which was increased to Rs.50 Crores as per G.R.No.LID-1097/13154/SCP-2, dated 10/3/1998.
• The current paid up capital of LIDCOM as on 31/3/2007 stands at Rs.73.21 Crores. State Govt. participation in the Share Capital is 100%.
• As per Govt.of Maharashtra Resolution No.LID/1095/6461/lND-5,dated 24.6.96, LIDCOM has been brought under the control of Social Welfare, Cultural Affairs and Sports Department from Industries Department.
• The said decision was taken in order to give financial assistance to the community which is engaged in development of Leather Industry.

Objectives

• The main objective of corporation is social, economic, and educational Development of charmakar community, i.e., Dhor, Chambhar, Mochi & Holar.
• Development, encouragement and promotion of leather industry in the state.
• Developing Technology in Leather Industry.
• Creation of market for leather goods.
• To implement various loan schemes and provide financial assistance to the leather industry and other businesses for the tanner community.
• To develop artisans in leather industry from Scheduled Castes.

Share Capital

• The share capital at the time of establishment was Rs.5 crores.
• Authorized share capital Rs. 73.21 crores. Rs.43.21 crores of paid up shares capital.
• A total amount of Rs.314.61 crore received from the government in the form of share capital and share capital contribution.
• The government has approved to increase the authorized share capital from Rs.73.21 crore to Rs.1000 crore.
