Assistance to newly married couples under the Kanyadan Yojana
Eligibility Criteria
- Bride and groom should be residents of the state of Maharashtra.
- Bride should not be less than 18 years of age and groom should not be less than 21 years of age.
- The caste certificate should be issued by a competent and authorized officer.
- This grant will be permissible for the bride and groom’s first marriage.
- Bride / groom or both should belong to SC (including Neo-Buddhist) category.
- The couple / their family should submit an Affidavit regarding non-violation of any Section under Dowry Prevention Act and Prevention of Child Marriage Act.
- NGO should be registered; NGO should arrange collective wedding ceremony consisting of at least 20 couples.

Benefits:
Collective marriages or couples who participants married in the ceremony the couple will get Rs. 25,000 / - as financial assistance. Collective ceremony organizing agency / organizations will be given Rs. 4000/-grant for each couple. The benefit of this scheme is only for the first marriage, however, a widowed woman is allowed for the second marriage.
How To Apply
The NGO concerned is required to submit a proposal to the Assistant Commissioner Social Welfare.
