Post-Matric Scholarship by the Government of India
Funding Source: Central Government (60%) and State Government (40%)
Objective of the Scheme:
- To enable students from backward classes to pursue college/higher education and to reduce the dropout rate among students.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The student must belong to Scheduled Castes (SC) or Neo-Buddhist categories.
- The annual income of the student’s parents should be ₹2.5 lakh or less.
- The student should be pursuing education after the matriculation examination.
- The student should be a resident of Maharashtra.
Nature of Benefits Provided:
- Students are provided with maintenance allowance, tuition fees, examination fees, and other approved fees.
- Maintenance allowance ranges from ₹250/- to ₹700/- per month (revised rates).
- For students residing in hostels, the maintenance allowance ranges from ₹400/- to ₹1350/- per month (revised rates).
