Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA)
Government Resolution:
- As per the letter No. 12-1/2020-DP-II dated July 13, 2020, from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi, the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) was launched on August 15, 2020, to prevent the misuse of intoxicating substances and to make India drug-free.
Objective of the Scheme:
- Based on the findings of a comprehensive national survey and information provided by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was launched in 272 districts identified as the most vulnerable to drug use in the country. This includes ten districts in Maharashtra (Nagpur, Nashik, Pune, Mumbai, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Gadchiroli, Thane, Solapur, and Kolhapur).
Nature of Benefits:
- Each selected district in Maharashtra under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan will receive a grant of Rs. 10 lakhs from the central government.
