Scheme for Providing Financial Assistance to Family Members of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Victims of Atrocities

Main Objective of the Scheme:

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance and rehabilitation to members of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes who are victims of caste-based atrocities under the Civil Rights Protection Act-1955, practicing and encouraging untouchability is considered a crime and is punishable. To curb atrocities against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act-1989 and the amended rules of 1995 have been implemented.
Key Conditions of the Scheme:
- The crime must be registered under the Civil Rights Protection Act-1955 and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act-1989.
- Medical certificate (required for relevant crimes)
- Caste certificate (for all crimes)
Benefits of the Scheme:
- Financial assistance ranging from ₹0.85 lakh to ₹8.25 lakh (depending on the severity of the case)
