Reimbursement of Education Fees and Examination Fees for Backward Class Students
Funding Source: State Government (100%)
Objective of the Scheme:
- To enable students from backward classes to pursue college/higher education and to reduce the dropout rate among students.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The student must belong to Scheduled Castes (SC) or Neo-Buddhist categories.
- The annual income of the student’s parents should be more than ₹2.50 lakh.
- The student should be pursuing education after the matriculation examination.
- The student should be a resident of Maharashtra.
Nature of Benefits Provided:
- Students from Scheduled Castes pursuing post-matriculation education are provided with education fees, examination fees, and other prescribed fees for all district-level recognized post-matric educational courses, irrespective of their age.
Application Process:
- The student’s online application is submitted to the respective college. The college reviews the application and documents and then submits the application online to the Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare of the respective district.
- The Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare approves the application, and the education fees, examination fees, and other fees are deposited into the respective college’s bank account through the MahaDBT system.
