    Grants to NGOs for anti-drug campaigns and rehabilitation of addicts

    Key Conditions of the Scheme:

    According to the Government Resolution dated 16/8/2012 by the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department:

    For Individuals:

    1. Must be a resident of Maharashtra.
    2. Must have done remarkable work in the field of de-addiction for 15 years.
    3. No age limit.
    4. Must submit the application in the prescribed format.

    For Organizations:

    1. Must be registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and the Mumbai Public Trusts Act, 1950.
    2. Must have worked in the field of de-addiction for more than 10 years.
    3. Approval at the government level.

    Criteria for Financial Assistance to De-addiction Centers:

    1. Must submit the application in the prescribed format.
    2. Must be registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and the Mumbai Public Trusts Act, 1950.
    3. Must conduct de-addiction promotion and publicity in the district through various media.
    4. The organization must be at least 5 years old.
    5. Must provide audit reports for the last 5 years.
    6. Must attach a list of dead stock, medicines, and beneficiaries.
    7. Must provide a rental agreement and building plan, along with photographs of special programs.

    Benefits:

    1. To promote de-addiction, various programs are organized for voluntary organizations and individuals.
    2. Individuals who have done remarkable work in the field of de-addiction are honored annually with a government-approved certificate of honor, a memento, ₹15,000, a shawl, and a coconut.
    3. Organizations are honored with a government-approved certificate of honor, a memento, ₹30,000, a shawl, and a coconut under the “De-addiction Service Award.”

    How To Apply

    Applications for financial assistance to de-addiction centers and for the “De-addiction Service Award” for individuals and organizations doing remarkable work in the field of de-addiction, as per the Government Resolution dated 16/8/2012, should be submitted to the Commissioner of Social Welfare through the District Social Welfare Officer, Zilla Parishad.
