The Maharashtra Government’s Social Justice and Special Assistance Department provides scholarships every year to Scheduled Caste and Neo-Buddhist students who have secured admission for special studies abroad. Additionally, the government reserves the right to make necessary changes, improvements, and re-invite applications in the advertisement if there is an increase in the income limit of parents’ families or the number of seats under the scheme in the near future.
Applications are being invited from eligible students for the Foreign Scholarship for the academic year 2025-26. The application should be submitted online, and a copy should be sent by post or in person to the Commissionerate of Social Welfare, 3, Church Road, Pune-411 001.

To honor the activists and organizations in the state who have done significant work in the field of de-addiction, and to recognize and appreciate the work of those working in this field, thereby inspiring other activists. This will encourage activists to come forward for the upliftment of de-addiction work and create inclusiveness while enhancing the quality of de-addiction awareness work. In recognition of the work of deserving individuals and organizations, the ‘Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi State-Level De-Addiction Service Award’ is given.

Under the Mahatma Gandhi De-Addiction Counseling, Treatment, Rehabilitation Center, Promotion and Dissemination Scheme by the Department of Social Justice, considering the work of voluntary organizations in the field of de-addiction, 12 organizations from 6 revenue divisions, with 2 organizations from each division, are given an incentive grant of ₹11.00 lakh each. The selection of organizations/centers is done by the selection committee at the government level based on the quality criteria from the proposals received for this scheme. Proposals are being invited from voluntary organizations doing valuable work in the field of de-addiction for the financial year 2021-22.

Registered NGOs working in the field of social welfare and social workers who have done remarkable work in this field are honored with various awards every year. Applications are being invited for various awards to be given in the financial year 2023-2024. It is necessary to fulfill the conditions prescribed for the awards for the year and the awards for which the application is being made. Also, the period from January 1 to December 31 will be considered for the award. (For example, for the year 2023-2024, the eligibility period will be considered from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023).
