Hindu Khatik Samaj Arthik Vikas Corporation

Introduction:

To achieve the social and economic upliftment of the Scheduled Castes in the state, the government has approved the establishment of an Economic Development Corporation (subsidiary) for the social and economic development of the Hindu Khatik community included in the currently operational Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation, as per the government resolution dated October 15, 2024. This corporation will be referred to as the “Hindu Khatik Community Economic Development Corporation (a subsidiary of Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation).” The operations of this subsidiary will be managed by the Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation. The details regarding the structure, functions, and schemes to be implemented by the Hindu Khatik Community Economic Development Corporation (subsidiary) are as follows:

1. Structure of the Subsidiary (State Level / District Level)
The headquarters of the subsidiary will be located in Mumbai, at the same location as the headquarters of the Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation. The Board of Directors of the subsidiary will include a Chairman, a Vice-Chairman, three non-government members, and three government members.

2. Functions of the Subsidiary:

1. Working for the welfare and development of the Hindu Khatik community in the state.
2. Providing low-interest loans for self-employment to individuals from the Khatik community and ensuring their recovery.
3. Providing credit facilities, equipment, and technical and managerial tools to improve the economic condition of the Khatik community.
4. Offering necessary services for the production, assembly, and supply of products, goods, materials, and equipment for the Khatik community.
5. Initiating and promoting schemes for the welfare of the Hindu Khatik community in the state and preparing reports for these schemes.

• Currently, all the schemes being implemented for the Scheduled Castes category through the Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation will be independently implemented for the Hindu Khatik community through this subsidiary.
• For the financial year 2024-25, the necessary provision for the Hindu Khatik Community Economic Development Corporation, this subsidiary, will be approved from the share capital budget head of the Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation (4225-0031).
• The necessary positions (organizational structure) and financial provisions for the subsidiary will be independently handled by the department. Additionally, the workload and criteria for the approved positions in the subsidiary will be based on the workload and criteria of the positions in the main company.
• The headquarters of the Hindu Khatik Community Economic Development Corporation, this subsidiary, will be located in Mumbai, under the current headquarters of the Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation.
• For district-level operations, the work of the subsidiary will be carried out by the approved officers/employees of the district offices of the Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation.
• Currently, the existing Managing Director of the Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation will also serve as the Managing Director of this subsidiary.
• The registered office of the Hindu Khatik Community Economic Development Corporation, this subsidiary, will be located in Mumbai.
