    Objective of the Scheme:

    • Article 47 of the Constitution of India includes guidelines for the prohibition of intoxicating substances to protect public health and welfare. The increasing impact of addiction is causing a decline in the state’s and the youth’s potential. To curb this, the state has announced a de-addiction policy aimed at banning alcohol, tobacco, gutkha, opium, and mitigating their adverse effects on social life and public health.

    Nature of Benefits:

    • To effectively implement the de-addiction policy and rehabilitate addicted individuals/patients, de-addiction centers and institutions are given opportunities to work in this field. They are provided with incentives and financial assistance. Each revenue division is allotted two institutions, totaling 12 institutions, each receiving a grant of Rs. 11 lakhs (totaling Rs. 1,32,00,000).

    Terms and Conditions:

    • The application must be in the prescribed format.
    • The institution must be registered under the 1860 and 1950 Acts.
    • It is necessary to promote de-addiction through various means in the district.
    • The institution must have been operational for at least 5 years.
    • The last 5 years’ audit report is required.
    • It is necessary to attach a list of heavy collections, a list of medicines, and a list of beneficiaries.
    • The lease agreement of the building, the map of the building, and photographs of special programs must be attached.
