Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi State-Level De-addiction Service Award

Objective of the Scheme:
- To honor individuals and institutions who have made significant contributions in the field of de-addiction and have set an example for society with the Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi State-Level De-addiction Service Award.
Nature of the Scheme:
- To make de-addiction work competitive for individuals and institutions who have left a mark with their work and have cooperated with the government in promoting de-addiction in the state. To evaluate de-addiction work through awards, involve individuals and institutions in promotional activities, and honor those who maintain healthy competition and quality work with awards.
Nature of Benefits:
- Individuals involved in de-addiction work, such as writers, poets, journalists, editors, litterateurs, social workers, kirtankars, speakers, traditional folk artists (e.g., Shahirs, Gondhalis, Bharudkars, Potraj, Vasudev, and Loknatya artists), government officers/employees, are awarded a certificate of honor, a memento, and Rs. 15,000 in cash. Institutions are awarded a certificate of honor, a memento, and Rs. 30,000 in cash. (Total of 51 awardees)
Terms and Conditions:
- The recipient of the De-addiction Service Award must be a resident of Maharashtra.
- The De-addiction Service Award is given to individuals who have excelled in de-addiction work, including writers, poets, journalists, editors, litterateurs, social workers, kirtankars, speakers, traditional folk artists (e.g., Shahirs, Gondhalis, Bharudkars, Potraj, Vasudev, and Loknatya artists), government officers/employees.
- To apply for the De-addiction Service Award, individuals must submit an application in the prescribed format.
- Information on at least 15 years of work in the field of de-addiction at the individual/state/district/taluka level is required for the De-addiction Service Award.
- The De-addiction Service Award will be approved at the government level.
- There is no age restriction for individuals receiving the award for work in the field of de-addiction.
- Individuals working in the field of de-addiction are not eligible for the award more than once.
- The award is not based on gender or individuals from outside the state.
- Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly, Municipal Councilors, Zilla Parishad members, or any other public representatives can apply for the award and are eligible.
- Programs on de-addiction should be conducted on radio, television, and for public awareness.
- “B” grade newspapers should have received publicity for de-addiction work. (b) Social organizations, youth clubs, bhajan groups, savings groups, sports clubs, electronic media, schools, and colleges, newspapers.
- The award will be given to social service-oriented institutions, youth clubs, women’s groups, bhajan groups, savings groups, sports clubs, schools, colleges (anti-addiction education, social gatherings, competitions, class activities), electronic media, social organizations, newspapers (Hindi, English, and Marathi), video parlors, cable TV, cinema, factory, industry management, and labor unions working in the field of de-addiction.
- Attach the NGO registration under the 1860 and 1950 Acts.
- The institution must have been working in the field of de-addiction for at least 15 years.
- The institution’s service and work in the field of de-addiction should be more than 10 years.
- The institution must attach the last 5 years’ audit/annual report.
- The condition is relaxed as an exception for special fundamental and important institutions.
- The institution’s work should have received publicity in newspapers/radio/television.
- The institution should have published weekly/fortnightly literature on de-addiction.
- The institution should have conducted various public awareness programs for de-addiction.
- The institution must submit an application in the prescribed format for the De-addiction Service Award.
- Institutions working in the field of de-addiction are not eligible for the award more than once.
